Hello everyone,

It may sound a little bit silly but I had a discussion with my friend about that the VVTi cam gear on the 2J needs to be fixed somehow after a certain power because it cannot hold up (?!) with the stress. Now at first, I was like "Nah bro, you trippin'? you can't compress oil... when it is in position, it is fixed by the hydraulic pressure inside the gear". But he just keeps telling me that he heard it from some well-known 2J builder and to be honest, it got me thinking. I still cannot understand if it is really the case but after this point, I have no experience in engine building/tuning to prove my point against that guy.

So because there are a lot of smart and experienced people here, fortunately, I would like to request your opinion about that. Is it really needed? If yes, why? It would be great if we can end this discussion with my friend :')

Thank you in advance!
