I've been trying to get my head around how to acheive that signature overrun crackle on stock vehicles like for example jaguar XKR. And apparently every VAG cars nowadays.
I have tried playing with Lambda ratio (rich/lean)
Ignition retard (less/waaay to much)
Cutting ignition on one or several cylinders on overrun.
And all I have been able to achieve is a consistent banging two times a second, and the "loudness" of those bangs can be increased with more timing retard. Nothing like that signature crackle.
Maybe someone knows the secret to how they "cheat" it?
Engine is a 1.8 20VT
Thanks in advance.
