Hi All,

bit of a silly question as i have only just started tuning and cant seem to find the info i need online.

I am Planning to install a Walbro/TI Automotive 460LPH on my LS1 P01

can someone confirm if its only the flow rate table i need to update as i cant seem to find anything else in relation to the fuel pump

Can someone also help point me in the right direction on how to convert these numbers to suit my stock ecu. is there an excel sheet i should be making to use that would make the calcs easier? i cant seem to find any raw date off the TI website unfortunately

here are the specs of the pump

Flow @ 276 kPa: 450 lph

Flow @ 40 psi: 119 gph

Max System Pressure (psi): 87

Max System Pressure (kPa): 600

and this is the only picture i can find relating to flow, should there be more data provided by the manufacturer or is the data enough

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure where you're having the issue, the graph in the link covers about all I would expect you to need? If you could expand on this, as you may be a bit confused about what it's telling you?

Something you may need to bear in mind, though, is that the pump may have significantly greater current draw, which will mean a greater voltage drop across the wiring to the detriment of the voltage across the pump. You may need a relay and heavier wiring.

You may also need to check the fuel system for restrictions, especially leading the pump from the tank with special focus on the filtration. Oh, you may also need to check the regulator has enough capacity to pass the fuel to control the rail pressure under light/no fuel demand.

My question was that I am unsure on how to us the data in the graph and which tables to enter it in exactly. Unfortunately none of the worked examples or tuning fundamentals course shows this. I am looking online but cannot find anything as I assume it should be a very simple thing so no one has asked about it haha.

Also thanks for the additional tips, as per research I believe I have to get a 20a fuse and the standard wiring should suffice.

There may be some confusion, provided the fuel is still being regulated to the same pressure(s) - why I mentioned it as some are potentially restrictive at higher flow rates, so will give a higher rail pressure - there should be no changes required, and hence no correction or date required to be entered. I may be wrong, so if anyone wishes to add to that?

If you mean to ask about speed/flow control of the pump by the ECU, I can't comment for now.

Hi Gord,

That makes perfect sense thank you for clarifying it. I have not heard anyone comment on changing the fuel pressure regulators on similar builds but i will check to make sure that they are not restrictive at higher flow rates as you suggested. I will just install the pump and with no modifications it should operate just as normal with no edits in the tune from what i understand.

Thanks again
