I am starting to configure my first base ROM file for my 2008 MX5 NC 2.0 which has Cams, decat header and panel filter in the factory air box.

I am using the RaceRom Ecutek package.

I’ve set my AFR target to 12:1 above 0.690 G/rev so I can start to work at dialling in my trims in closed loop first before starting the WOT portion.

I am now looking at my Ignition Timing mode 1 map and wondering how much timing I should remove from the open loop portion before starting to explore any knock restrictions.

I want the initial setup to be safe but obviously don’t want to be so far away from MBT that I’m wasting huge amounts of time either. I am also strictly restricted to road tuning and will use the guides in the course to do any MAF scaling adjustments.

thanks

alex
