What are the strategies that I can use on OEM ECU's (subaru sti 2.5 05' OEM ECU for example ) to configure soft rev limiter? I'd like to configure it because, at Subaru in this case, I have stock internals and I'd like to protect them better.
This isn't something I've really considered since the OE limiter is normally fairly friendly to the engine. You could retard the timing a little a few hundred rpm before you reach the limiter to help soften the tune and if you have a dbw car you could begin to close the throttle before you reach the rev limit - This is actually a strategy many OE ECUs already employ.
Also is a good idea to cut some boost pressure when are we going close to rev limit?
