Hi all I'm Steve and have a 1989 Plymouth voyage woody turbo minivan that is my long term project. I purchased a couple turbochargers in hopes I could use them on the van as an upgrade. So far the van is a 2.5l sohc engine rebuilt with .040 over pistons, ported head and ported manifolds. The fuel system is all custom with a 450lph pump,3/8 lines, adjustable regulator, and 1000cc injectors. Originally the van came with a wee teo4h Mitsubishi turbocharger but I upgraded to a Shelby Dodge daytona Garrett 50 trim t3 which was good for a while but I knew there were more efficient options out there so here we are. I bought 2 of these turbonetics turbochargers on eBay later to find out they are replacements for Thielert continental experimental aircraft engines. The compressor wheel is billet titanium and measures 47.8mm x 68mm the turbine wheel is a 76 trim wheel like a gt2871 with a 53.9x47.5 wheel. The comp housing seems to be a custom setup with a Wiggins clamp on the outlet. It came with no turbine housing as it was in a turbofold so ive machined a stainless t25 housing for it. Also it says they are ball bearing but I'll have to open one up to confirm. On paper this seems like it would be good for 400bhp and with the billet titanium compressor wheel should spool very quickly. Anyone with any ideas or comments would be appreciated.
