Hey everyone, working on a 2010 cobalt SS wire tuck. After 4 years experience as an electrician I decided it’d be a good idea to start relocating my fuse box and ECU to make room for a side mount turbo.

I soon realized I had no business messing with a cars electrical system, so I started the courses on wiring fundamentals and engine harness building and they have been very helpful thus far but now I want to rip it all apart and start over with the information I’ve learned.

Currently I have the fuse box on the passenger side under the dash and the ECU is on driver side under the seat, I’m thinking this is to long of a run as it’s about 15 feet of wire. I might put the ECU back in the engine bay and do away with the whole wire tuck idea

Some things I’d like to do different,

Build a custom fuse box that will sit in the glove box

Add quick connects instead of the harness coming through the firewall

Start from the sensors and work my way down to the fuse box and ECU.

I’ve started mocking up a new harness already starting from the sensors, hoping I’ll be able to use most of the wires in the harness I already made

I’ve attached some pictures of my progress I already made before I rip it apart this weekend

cheers 🍻
