Right so I am going to Sydney for World time attack, just to watch and check out the cars. I have flights booked but thats all, I am after some idea on where to stay, what to do etc and I thought I would ask on here because its full of like minded people that may have some good ideas.

Ben and I will be heading over again and we are staying at the Atura in Blacktown which is about 5 minutes from the track. We stayed there last year and it's a cool place and not overly expensive. We found the cheapest way to book was to become a Priority Rewards member which is free. Join up here - https://www.priorityguestrewards.com.au/
then make sure you enter it on their site. That saved us around 200NZD over and above booking.com.
We will also be having a meetup for any HPA members in the area on the Saturday night. We'll announce details closer to the time.
