What's the principle of that we steer 20 degree to measure castor?
Caster (American spelling) turns into Camber when you turn the wheel. By turning it a known amount(20 degrees), and measuring the camber, we can calculate the castor (British spelling)
Can I just on this thread a bit ( sorry )
Can caster be worked out with just a camber gauge? I know about the 20 degrees turning, but in the practical demonstration a caster gauge is always used which works it out for you.
Is there an actual calculation that can be done in order to work out the caster?

I think this equation will work:
Caster (deg) = (180 / 3.1415) * [(camber1 - camber2) / (turnangle1 - turnangle2)].
Here is another suggestion if you can zero your camber gauge:

when measuring caster on a race car , due to larger tires or lower ride height we may not get to 20 deg in/out to directly read the caster off of the gauge, what is formula/ratio to calculate the caster at 10 or 15 deg in/out , please let me know, kind regards Behr
