Hi guys

Have a 06 commodore with gm e38 ecu . Single turbo conversion. 2bar map- 75lb injectors

Is a sd patch best option for boost tune ?

Also have a maximum hard limit for injector flow so need to scale injectors looking for best method

Any opinions welcome

Thanks in advance

While you can still retain the MAF, I'd personally go down the SD patch route for simplicity. You are still going to be controlling the OL fuel targets though from the PE EQ Ratio table though so it's a case of selecting suitable targets for a boosted application (likely in the range of 11.2-11.5:1 would be a good place to start) and then tuning the VE table to achieve these targets. in this respect the tuning process is no different to a stock N/A engine. What you will need to do though is manipulate the parameters to ensure you're moving into PE at a suitable load/boost pressure.

As for the scaled tune, this is a little tricky and to be honest it's a PITA as far as I'm concerned. Unfortunately we don't cover this in a worked example but this is a very useful guide on the process from David Steck which is posted on the Injector Dynamics website - http://injectordynamics.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/SteckScale.pdf

Thanks Andre . Just to comfirm this e38 ecu has a hard injector value limit of 63.5lb . We are running 75lb injectors . So if i do the SD OS this is still a problem is there another option for injector input or do I still have to scale?

Thanks

Unfortunately no, you're stuck with the requirement to scale the calibration unless you drop to a smaller injector. Do you actually need to be running 75 lb/hr injectors? On pump gas you will be able to support around 1000 hp with a 65 lb injector just for reference. Obviously once you have the injectors it becomes a bigger expense to swap them but I'll mention it anyway.
