I'm hoping that some of you fine folks out there might be able to help point me to some learning/training resources for tuning a 2013 VW GTI 2.0t (CBFA engine code) with an MED17.1 ECU. The way that these ECUs work (by making calculations based on requested torque) is very different than what I'm used to and some baseline knowledge resources would go long way in helping me gain some basic proficiency.

On top of that, HP Tuners software is definitely a different beast so it's a double learning requirement.

I'm willing to pay a reasonable fee to get a little training on this if needed, but of course low or no cost is preferred.

While the course uses WinOLS, I think the "WINOLS - MK5 VW GOLF GTI" worked example will give you insight into the torque based VW strategy.

And then the HP Tuners software is pretty straight forward, but again HPA has worked examples using it, just not the exact combo of software and engine you have, so browsing one of the HPA examples using HP Tuners for VCM editor and VCM scanner basic use will likely speed things up for you.

Hey Mike, thanks for the reply. I noticed the new course for WINOLS and the MK5 VW Golf platform, but the price tag for that is a little out of the budget for the time being.

Do you have a link that you can point me to for the examples of HP Tuners files that you are referencing? It would be nice to see some before and after files from a reliable source for load based tuning with HP Tuners. Like you said, even if it's not for the exact setup that I'm working with, it is still good reference material.
