Amazing, thanks for the update. Looking forward to the new videos!
Hi Stu,
Since that video we got our hands on an Einstar Vega. We've actually made some content on it, but it's yet to come out.
The Vega is an awesome scanner for under $2000 USD. It's not perfect or the answer to all our wishes, but I found it to be very convenient and able to cover all the needs for car projects.
If I was in the market for a personal scanner, this is where I'd be looking, but I also think the new Einstar Rigil will be awesome for car parts - although a significant step up in price.
Haven't been able to try anything else unfortunately.
Hi Conner,
Is there any update to your scanner buyer's guide? We are coming up on a year from the video release, and I see quite a few new models are out.
thanks Stu
Hey Team,
Connor here, from the 3D scanning course.
Happy to answer any questions you might have, so fire away!
Excited to see your 3D scanning projects and the designs you come up with, so make sure you share them here.
To kick things off I'll share something I've just started working on for my personal 240z.
I've scanned the engine bay and intake to map out a 6-1 header.
Eventually, I'd like to 3D print the merge collector and the flange and start of the primaries with a nice transition from the square ports to circular tube.
With the rest of the design mapped out it should make it easier to fabricate. I could also make a JIG from the CAD model or get the tubes CNC bent.
