Buddy of mine just got an EVO 8 from Pennsylvania, there is about a 1000' difference in elevation and we are noticing a pretty lean condition at idle and we are looking for steps on how to calibrate MAP sensor as we just installed a new one thinking it was screwed. But same readings. Any help would be great!! We have ECUlink software, just need to see if anyone has a table for sea level MAP calibration and where to make these changes.
Additional info, running a 4 bar Omni sensor. Key off map reading 8.8 inHG, at idle 5 inHG given what we would normally see the differential would make sense
Have you done this step (MAP calibration)?
It seems like the screen shots you sent are for a Link ECU, we are running a factory ECU in this car and using either DSMlink or ECMlink software, I can't remember which one is for the Evo ECUs. I'm assuming it's going to be relatively the same process. Looking to see if anyone has done this for the factory ECU?
I'm lost. In stock software everything is already pre calibrated. All you need to do is correct your AFR map.
just as the same if using HP tuners on a GM. With ECM link software you pull the ROM file from the car. You then change it based on up grades. This car comes factory with a 2.5 bar map sensor, hence you have to change the MAP scaling if you change the MAP sensor, which we are running a 4 Bar Omni sensor. If I souly change the fuel maping without scaling the MAP then I would have to return the entire fuel map if I wanted to swap out a MAP sensor. Where as if I just adjust the single line of the MAP scaling I will not have to touch the fuel table. I was hoping to find out if anyone using ECUlink software for their EVOs can give me the scaling for the Omni 4 Bar, and maybe brief steps on where to find the calibration for it within the file. I will have my open port 2.0 cable in this coming week and just figured I would gather this info first. If I figure it out before this thread gets traction I'll upload screenshots and the info I find.
