G'day all. Picked up an old magna from an auction to learn tuning on. What are the engine capabilities and what y'all have experienced with these engines.
I don't know much about them, 'cept they've been used in a bunch of engine sizes and configurations. The advantage of that is they're going to be more easily found for cores, and different platforms will have differing amounts of help with modifying.

Not many aftermarket performance parts are available for that engine let alone pricing. We tuned it a couple of years ago- standard things: turbo, custom Ross pistons, ported heads, 6 speed Toyota automatic transmission... Came out pretty good but too much hassle... But it can be used as a working mule for picking up some experience in NA state.
Update - I ended up selling the car XD
