Hey, I'm having trouble understanding the purpose of the ECCS relay. After the relay, there's apparently a connection to the battery positive via two fuses. So, this relay doesn't make sense to me. Besides, pins 49, 59, and 109 are ECU power and also supply power to the MAF and CAS. But what's the point of the relay then?
Or am I just reading the wiring diagram wrong?
Thanks in advance!
Greetings from Germany
Hello Florian,
I believe this is a CA18DET? I don't have a ton of experience with them, but that wire from the fuse that goes to "3" isn't there on my version of the diagram and from my experience, isn't there in the wiring. That wouldn't make sense that it would power those pins and the MAF, CAS, and coil relay at all time. The only pin that is hot at all time on the ECU is pin 58.
Maybe there is a difference in the EDM version of that ECU, but I have attached the JDM diagram for your reference.
Hope it helps,
Frank
Hey Frank, thank you for your quick answer!
I think you're right, it doesn't make sense to power everything there. And apparently Nissan sees it exactly as I see on your diagram. would make the ECCS unnecessary because the function is not possible. According to my understanding, the part to the ECU and the ignition coils should be switched off when the ignition is off. Maybe it was a mistake on Nissan’s part back then?! I just ignore the reference and it makes sense.
Thank you, you helped a lot!
