I have a new 5 pin hella relay just wondering if I could use this for my thermo fan. Can I use it just like a 4 pin and not connect the 87a pin.
You can just use it like a 4 pin relay, the only difference is instead of the switched side being close when the relay is energised, 87a is opened from it's default closed state.
Having the option of either, or both, open and closed can be quite useful for some things, but maybe not in this case.
Ok no worries. I am running a 16 inch spal fan. What gauge wire is recommended for relay power to the battery. Battery is in the boot.
