When you are tuning an engine with standalone ECU, have you found yourself calculating the air flow yourself or most ECUs already have the algorithm built into the ECU to give you the readings??
No, this really isn't something you need to concern yourself with in day to day tuning. The reason we cover this in the course is to give a full comprehension of what is actually happening. In particular it's easy to ignore the relationship between volume airflow and mass airflow which accounts for air density. in general the process of tuning is much simpler and we're just adjusting the fuel table values until we achieve our desired AFR.
