Hi, Mx-5 NB 1.6(stock internals) Turbo (GBC 20-300), Ecu master EMU BLACK
I get a lot of noise when in engine is fully loaded, in 3-4k rpm range,0,4+-Bar of boost, engine might be knocking there but, cant clear hear it because of noise (using diy det cans- (copper pipe) bolted exactly where OEM knock sensor was. Got Bosch knock sensor mounted not fully calibrated i would say(frequency is set, rest is deafult) but i picks up this noise too(image uploaded). I even took 6 degrees of ignition out of that RPM range, it still sounds the same.
Im new to tuning, but tested knock sound at low load/low rpm, i can clearly hear knock and spot it instantly, but engine noise is way lower there.
My ideas:
3300 RPM is when engine has its "ressonance" spot, could this be something rattling around?
Wastegate is not tennsioned much, i want to tune as low boost as possible, could WG flap woblle around and make that noise?
If it was knock, I have driven a bit with it like that, many pulls in that load and RPM range (not proud of that), but spark plugs look perfect no sign of melting electrode or broken ceramic bits.

Could you share the log at all?
It could well just be noise, to rule out your pennt valve on the gate rattling, you could tighten it and see if that helps the noise as it might be at the point it's getting pushed slightly off of it's seat.
What fuel are you using?
98 octane in Europe

Did some test driving today, more WG tension didnt change anything, It still sounds very close to knock and engine noise in thay rpm range is high too, even with close to 0 ignition timing i hear "knock" but everything is a bit quieter and knock sensor notices it too. Attached logs.
Is it even possible for this engine to knock at such retarded ignition? Compared to others peoples maps and base maps.
Got 1/4 of fuel tank, will fill up to full with fresh 98 and check if anything changes.
