Hi, how do we know how many pounds of injector flow we are at?

I have heard that 1 ampere of fuel pump consumption equals to 10lb approximately...

Can we do this taking in account injector duty cycle? Maybe at 50% of duty we have the half of the total injector flow??

I saw in past lessons that this can be measured on the dyno

Is there other way?

No idea where you got the idea that current equals flow - while there is a VERY convoluted relationship, you're best to avoid it.

The injector spec' heet should give the open flow at the nominal pressure, and the better ones for a range of pressures - NOTE this is the difference between the manifold boost, if any, and the rail pressure.

There is a delay between the injectors being turned on and opening fully, and turning off, but an approximation can be made using the flow rate and the duty percentage, as you wondered.

Hi Gord, there is something Im not sure about, maybe a noob question but...

Does the flow changes regarding the load? Or just regard of the pressure of the fuel pump? Can that delay be corrected just with the Inyector dead time table?

I don't quite understand what is meant by "load"? If you mean boost/manifold pressure and volume, then it does - it's the delta, or difference between the REGULATED fuel pressure AT THE RAIL suppying the fuel to the injectors, and the pressure in the manifold, that is what we consider.

By "pressure of the fuel pump", I assume you mean the regulated fuel pressure.

Basically, yes, but it is helpful if one can factor in the delay(s), which will vary with the pressure delta and voltage applied across the injectors. This is something that all the others with experience are better qualified to go into.
