Hi everyone! I wonder if someone knows the valve opening-closing time differences between a 25 and a 26 because it looks a bit weird. Btw I have a 256 degree HKS intake cam so nothing crazy, the exhaust cam is stock.

I am asking because the 25 has an adjustable intake cam wheel and I advanced mine fully so it would open as early as possible. It might not be the best setting but I am still experimenting and looking for others experiences. Also important that I don't care about top end power, low-mid range is what matters to me.

So after advancing the cam, I checked it with an endoscope how does it look. What I noticed is that this way, there's still no overlap between the in-ex cams, but basically they close-open at the same time, maybe 1-2 degrees of difference. With checking the timing marks on the crank now the intake cam opens 20 crank degrees before TDC and the exhaust closes 20-22 degrees before TDC. I am talking about the end of exhaust cycle. So basically the piston is still like 1-1+ cm away from TDC but the exhaust is closed and the intake is already opening.

While I can adjust the intake opening time it's weird that the exhaust closes 20+ degrees before TDC. Isn't that too much? (Still stock ex camshaft) It's basically pushing exhaust gas into the intake. Not much of course but still, I wonder..

From the motive-prp testing and from other posts it seems like the exhaust would like a couple degrees more retarding and the intake is more advance that stock. Although these were all 26's. I wonder if it would help if I would put the exhaust cam 1 tooth away so it would close later, and adjust the intake for 0 overlap, or just a bit.

Based on the 26 settings, 1 tooth on the exhaust is already too much. But idk if it's the same as the 25.

Does anyone has experiences with it?

Also yea, I could just Dyno it but I'm just before tuning and after I set it up once, I don't really want to touch it until I'll have adjustable cam gears on both, which may be never or much later.
