In the "Load Calculation" video under the tuning modules, it says the MAP sensor is not affected by larger camshaft overlap causing intake charge dilution. I don't understand why, since the MAP is monitors manifold pressure, seems like EGR gases going back into the intake track on overlap would cause a false pressure reading at low RPM?

Can this be explained?

OK, so I think i may have figured out the answer to my own question. Now I am a Harley Davidson mechanic, if I remember correctly now that I am thinking about it, I believe the MAP sensor is not a continuous reading sensor, and it only takes a reading at a certain crankshaft position. If this is the case, I can see why the EGR will not influence the reading, if reading is taken at a place where EGR gases are not entering the intake manifold.

Any truth to this??

If I understand the question, I may not, it is factored into the calculations.

It may help if you realise EGR and reversion are actually different things, even if both can dilute the charge's oxygen percentage.
