Main goal: Create a Fuel Used channel on the C187 Dash that can be used to calculate laps remaining and fuel remaining.
I tried looking for information on how to use the Fuel Prediction Setup in the MoTeC C187 Dash Manager. The dash manual tells you where the settings are, but not actually how to use them.
I am trying to get a cumulative Fuel Used Channel on a FK8 Civic Type R, from the DBC file, there is an "ENG Fuel Used" Channel, but it resets to zero every time it hits a specific value. This causes the data to have a saw tooth profile.
Example:
After attempting to use Calculus to make an advanced math channel in the Dash manager, I found that it is not possible:
My Attempted math channels:
Fuel Used Derivative = derivative('ENG FUEL USED')
Fuel Used Accumulative= integrate('Fuel Used Derivative','Fuel Used Derivative'>0)
Maybe I am making this too complex, and I can use one of the built-in calculations, but as I stated earlier, I was unable to find documentation on how the fuel prediction setup features work.
Does anyone have a non-calculus method to create a cumulative channel based on a signal that resets to zero every time it hits a max value?
Hi Donald,
If you hit F1 while the Fuel Prediction Setup window is open the help describes how all three calculation methods operate.
Which one is suitable depends on your raw input signal.
Does this FK8 have an M1 plug in kit or is it using the OE ECU?
Most likely you would need either
-Incrementing Fuel Used Value for a value, which continually counts up as fuel is consumed
or
-Fuel Usage Value which requires a volume flow rate as the raw input channel, e.g ml/s
