Does anyone know if I need to run a TWSH for the stock OEM throttle valve motor?
Why would you need one may I ask?
I would say you probably only need shielded wire if the original stock (OEM) wiring used shielded wire.
Nissan, Mazda and Toyota often shielded their TPS signal wire in the same era as the JZ's. They stopped doing it in newer vehicles. I have not found this to be necessary for OEM tps sensors or DBW conversions.
I only shield position sensors and knock sensors.
The original wiring did use shielded wire for the throttle valve motor(6 wire). I plan on keeping the OEM cable driven tps motor(for now).
Does anyone know if you delete the throttle valve motor once you go standalone? As I'm going to a Haltech
If this is a ETCS-i cable/motor hybrid throttle then Haltech (and almost every aftermarket ECU) will not support it.
Take the opportunity to replace the throttle with a Bosch Motorsport unit, you can buy off the shelf kits.
Thanks for the reply Scott. Are you talking about the Drive by wire unit?
I missed your reply. Yes the factory drive by wire unit.
