Hi, I'm finishing up with professional wiring course and starting to do my own documentation along with the worked example...

I'll be using an Emtron KV8 to run my VG30DETTT, and I'm wondering if there is a preference for powering the throttle body motors?

I have two 12v power ins, and each supplies two pairs of H bridge drivers.

It seems easier to just use one of the 12v inputs and power each motor from each of the two pairs of drivers.

Or would it be better to power the two motors from a single paired driver?

Or to use two separate paired drivers, and have each driver powered from a separate 12v in?

Thanks in advance - this is my first project of this scale and I'm trying to get my documentation in order before starting on the more practical part of the assembly.

The half bridges on Aux13-16 receive power from the Aux13-16 supply pin, so that pin is where you supply power for DBW output. See connector D pin D2 in this image.

Thanks Mike, my question was more about if it was preferable to power both throttle bodies from D2, or one from D2 and one from D20 (which supplies aux 9-12). The KV series manual mentions that you can drive up to 4 motors, so I'll go ahead and assume there's no problem power them both from D2.

Robert,

You could split them up, but I wouldn't. Emtron's plug and play R35 for example, runs both e-throttles off the same grouping (9-12), so the single aux 9-12 supply pin is powering them.
