I have a midengine car, the Haltech Rebel LS ECU and the LS wiring harness. I have all the proper splicing tools, open barrel connectors and I’ve taken the practical wiring course.

Please offer Best practise recommendation for extending sections of the harness (I.e injector harness)

1. Create a pigtail harness with (2) new / appropriate connectors for a a plug-in solution.

2. Disassemble one end of the harness, crimp connect wire extensions on one end and then re-pin and reconnected the connector on the other

or

3. Cut the harness in the middle and splice in longer wires but creating (2) crimp splices.

option 3 is the most attractive to me !?!?

I have built a couple of mid-engine LS harnesses, One successful approach is to just disassemble a stock harness (in your case the Haltech supplied one), including any splices, and re orient it to where you need the ECU location to be. Many leads will be long enough, and just need to be trimmed to length and re-terminated to the ECU. Some will need a spliced in wire to extend it. Since you already have the ECU end, I can see where your option 3 would make a lot of sense.

Good luck with your project.
