Is there any reason you couldn't use an old cylinder head with the chamber bored out bigger than the block you are boring?
i have a spare soft head and figured it would be perfect.
i have tried this my self and did not have success it all became to weak
That would make sense, the area that would be removed would be critical for the bridge strength.
