Andre, do you wear a mask when using the brake clean or are you in ventilated area, I see when grinding you have the equipment?
You would need a decent setup to capture light volatiles. Auto industry isn't renowned for appropriate use of PPE probably better to look to heavy industry users of similar products. I've never seen anyone wearing a mask using brake clean. Won't be dissimilar to electrical contact cleaner, none of the lecos on mine sites have to wear masks so I wouldn't be too concerned.
I'm aware the auto industry is not renowned for PPE use particularly in Australia where the "she'll be right mate" attitude is a plague. I was more concerned for Andre!
No I don't wear a mask while using brake clean but it is definitely recommended that you use it in a well ventilated area. As Michael has alluded to, a normal mask wouldn't do too much with brake clean anyway. I appreciate your concern Craig! :)
