Hey guys,
Many ECU's these days such as Haltech allow for fuel correction during launch, lets say I'm on an Elite and I have launch control set to Ignition cut and have the type set to soft cut. If I have 0% fuel correction I will get that traditional loud spark cut bang and also build a little more boost, if I add even say just 10% fuel correction it will really tame down the loud bangs and boost will also drop a little, that being said the boost seems a little more stable while doing that though. I know the affects of doing either, but I like to learn the why. Is the reason the bangs are quieter because the increased fuel isn't allowing it to fully combust as compared to no fuel adder, or something else?
Also is there an advantage to adding fuel or not, such as safety or other?
I've not tested a lot with the Haltech ECU's but with Link you generally need to pull fuel when using an ignition-based launch control, this brings the 'chuffs' of fuel down and you can end up with a blue flame on a very aggressive set-up. On a soft cut you really shouldn't get loud bangs, I would be getting a log to see what ignition values you're actually getting during launch control and your injector duty values before changing settings blind
