I plan to add wheel speed sensors to the front and rear wheels on a 1977 Porshe 911. I have sourced tone rings for the rear and have a plan for the front. My question is, will the Motec M600 support a magnetic sensor for this? It appears to be locked to using a digital input for a speed sensor. On the rear, I could fit a hall sensor, if necessary, but the front is more problematic as I need a 90-degree sensor like used on a Ford (Dorman 970-273).

I would like to enable gear detection to adjust boost levels as well as add traction control.

Look in the ECU Manager software at the Input setup, (and read the F1 Help). I think you'll find that either magnetic or Hall Effect can be used. I will try to confirm when I'm near a computer with the MoTeC ECU Manager software.

OK, looking at the Help Topics, under Specifications / Input Characteristics, they list logic signal & open collector device (e.g Hall Switch). I think if you want to use a VR sensor, you have to use an external signal conditioner, such as the MoTeC DMCD (not sure if this is still available, not listed on MilspecWiring.com). Here is the data sheet:

David,

That looks like a good solution, but I can only find then in Australia. With the conversion it's about $125 shipped so not terrible.

Bill

Since they are still on the Motec.com.au site, I would check with Milspec wiring to see if they are available. May just not be on the website.
