How long does an assembly lube last during engine assembly? For example, if you apply assembly lube to the bearing journals and leave the engine sit in a partly assembled state, is there a time after which you need to disassemble and re-apply assembly lube before continuing?
I would speculate that it will last years. But I've never tested it. Can you turn the engine over by hand easily (assuming no cam assembly is installed?) If so, I would not worry about it, just build oil pressure before the initial startup as normal.
