It probably depends on the failure mode, usually the rubber/elastic elements just fail in such a way that you get additional driveline backlash/harsher clutch take up. If there was a bearing failure causing a balance issue it should get worse with increasing engine speed.
If it's on starting it could be an injector or ignition issue as well.
