Is there a way to add a button that will show the new posts from the last time I visited the forum? This is commonly available on most forum software packages. It appears you're running on SilverStripe, which I am not familiar with, but it looks to be a very basic type forum/CMS software package.
Do they offer this feature? I really like the forum aspect but find it tedious to try and find all the new posts.

BTW Ben I just tried to add a user photo but it tells me " that user name is already in use"
