Hey guys, have a h22(basically a B-series) swapped Honda civic running a Haltech, my alternator wont charge at all and before I go throwing a new alternator at the car which I very much would rather not have to do, I was wondering if anyone knew how to setup the alternator in Haltech or if that was even a necessary step for a H series, as I know some alternators are ecu controlled, I cant find any info on this online so I thought i would ask here!
any info would be extremely appreciated!!
thankyou
I haven’t done it on an H series engine. Only an LS V8 (Haltech Nexus R5), but I basically just ran a wire from S on the alternator to the alternator post for a 12V reference. And L on the alternator went to a switched 12V output, running through a 470Ohm, 1/2W resistor. This dropped voltage down to about 8, which is what was needed to excite the alternator. If you want to setup an alternator output on the Haltech, you’d use a DPO and connect it to the F wire on the alternator. It’s not necessary though. The way I’d described above worked perfectly for my car, and I see a very consistent 14.2V
ill try to get some pics when I get home to show how I ran it.
