I’ve spent a while on my first big project, I have a cage and a tube back half designed in fusion for a 92 isuzu im building, and I’m going to start bending and notching everything soon.
How can I use my design to build a “cheat sheet” for my bends and notches? I put some pictures of the design below i just want to know how i can put all the bends, measurements, and angles on paper to use as i’m bending/notching everything.
Hey John, Sorry for the delay getting back to you.
See attached a screen recording. This is the only way I know of at the moment.
It works well but it does require a different approach to "notching" the tubes in CAD. (using the split face and push/pull function to ensure the thickness remains consistent - so it can be converted to sheetmetal)
Awesome work by the way, really impressive - looks like a cool project!
The one other thing you may want to account for is using a "sheet metal rule" and setting the K value to 1. Otherwise the material usage around the bend/tube will be weird and it might not fit around the tube when flattened out, printed and wrapped back around - if that makes sense
