You said that almost all suspension motion ratios are not 1:1. Why 1:1 here?
Most suspension systems use some form of linkage where the spring travel is different from the wheel travel.
Without you saying what the application is, I would guess it's either a strut where the spring is in line with the wheel's motion, or a beam axle in even bump/droop.
