In my case I'm trying to tune a motorbike engine (Yamaha CP2). How would I go about making sure my base ignition timing is correct without being able to see any moving components of the engine? Thanks!
Sorry, can't find anything to help you - usually one of the side covers can be removed, but it looks like the coolant pump is part of the left and it has a wet clutch under the right.
You may find a bike manual on-line that uses the same base engine (yamaha use it in a LOT of different bikes) that has the procedure, or you may find a friendly Yamaha bike mechanic that can help.
However, depending on what you're trying to do, that may not be too critical?
