Ideally you watch some of the worked examples first and start with a tune that's near stock power output. The 2006 Cummins and 2005 LLY examples have quite a few similarities. You'll have to disable some VGT turbo codes (whichever ones show up) on account of the turbo but on the whole, not have to dial in a VGT will make your first tuning adventure a bit easier because you'll only be able to control fueling parameters.
