Which tools would you suggest and are there any brands that you recommend?

Hi Larry, that's a pretty big question and a little hard to answer with specifics. I use SP tools for most of my general mechanical tools. I have a Snap-on and a Repco branded torque wrench. I use a Total Seal electric ring file however previously had a much cheaper Proform electric file which was also good. On the cheaper end of the spectrum Proform also offer a manual ring file. Most of the equipment you need realistically can be sourced through the likes of Jegs (where we bought much of our own equipment). Much of it will be chinese imported gear but I've found the likes of their micrometer sets to actually be really good quality and great value for money.

If you're looking for affordable decent-quality measuring tools for garage use (micrometers, etc). Fowler is a good brand for the price.

I run a machine shop, (general machining, not automotive). And we use this brand as the "beater" shop instruments, and keep the expensive, high quality tools in the inspection department. Measurements 9 times out of 10 are the same as the much more expensive Mitutoyo brand.

These are still more expensive than the brands that Jegs, etc sell, but if its a great option

Generalmente respondemos dentro de las 12 horas (a menudo antes)
