I am just about to start tuning my Subaru EJ255 for my 09 WRX using Cobb Access Tuner. The motor has AVCS on the intake cams. The Exhaust cams do not have AVCS.
How would this change in cam timing affect my target map goals? Would I still be shooting for the same lamda value in each region? Would I add another region for this transition period? Would this also cause a change in timing? Or does the AVCS just change the volumetric efficiency so we would see more of a step change in the volumetric efficiency of the motor?
Disclaimer: I haven't started tuning yet, I am still trying to learn the ropes and get a good idea for what to expect before I dive in. So I dont have physical experience tuning through the AVCS Range yet.
target map and lambda should be the same ignition timing will need to be changed to suit this will normally require less timing in these areas but testing will tell
