I am re wiring my 1JZ 240sx s13 and came across a few fusible link "fuses" in the engine bay passenger side fuse box. This seems like old technology, what would be the appropriate way to eliminate this in a new compact fuse box/ harness?

There is a few options available. The most common I am seeing more and more is people using circuit breaker type (photo attached).
You should also be able to find there will be some local suppliers which should be able to offer some products to suit what you're looking for and within your budget. I use a business here in NZ called Motorsport Electronics which are great, I think Rywire in USA might be able to supply the same sort of products?
