Hey, im wondering if and or how to control the factory LMM Duramax throttle valve? In its original factory setting far as I understand was used with EGR and to shorten warm up times, essentially emission related. Im curious if this is used, or can be used in grade braking in conjunction with vane position to create better engine braking resistance? I see that there are some basic parameters in EFILIve for the throttle valve, but not much else. Is this a worth wile investigation? What PID could I pull to log its positions?

If you deprive the engine of it's ability to pump through the intake at RPM you'll lessen the grade braking effectiveness of the turbo vane brake and also risk putting the turbo into continuous surge. I would not advise pursuing this method. There's not much in the way of control of the IAV in EFILive, you'll need an A2L and OLS for that sort of thing.
