Hi the question is how i now which one is positive and negative on top of the ignition and what tool i use?
You identify what engine it is, or what coil model it is, and look up information for 'pin outs' of the plug. If there is an existing OEM harness, you can quickly identify the negative as the wire will be bolted to the head. Positive will have 12v. The third is a negative switch back to the ECU. A fourth wire used on Toyotas is not needed.
