Hello Everyone,
I just finished the wiring fundamentals and Practical Club Level classes. Awesome information and learned a lot.
I am getting ready to tackle rewiring a custom cafe racer Ducati build, and have worked through most of the parts and pieces of the device connections. I am getting a little stuck on one point, signal wiring. I see that in the classes, the signal wiring is 22 AWG. When doing my independent research, it seems like 20 awg is the common go-to for the minimum wiring size in motorcycle applications due to excessive heat and vibration issues.
For what it's worth, I will be using the OEM ECU (Magneti Marelli IAW 5AM2), Motogadget Mo.Unit Blue, Motoscope Pro Instrument Cluster (with Breakout Box B), and Motogadget Mo.Switches.
Most of the OEM sensors will be reused, with the addition of Motogadget Oil, Coolant Temp, and Wheel Speed Sensors. OEM Sensors Include: Hall wheel speed sensor (for OEM ECU), coolant temp, oil pressure switch, throttle position sensor, and crank position sensor.
I will be using TXL wire, DR-25 sleeving, Raychem SCL for loom ends, OEM connectors (superseal 1.5), and adding DT/ DTM for new device connections.
Thank you for the help.
