Hello, I have a Nissan 200SX S13 with a CA18DET in which I want to install a Ecumaster Classic and I heard that these cars have high voltage fluctuations and that a relay would help with these fluctuations. Is it true? If so how should I connect it? Thank you!
I'd probably fix it by finding an alternator/voltage regulator that works properly and wire it well rather than a bandaid.
Can you tell me more about that voltage regulator and how do you connect it?

Do you have any links to the information about these voltage fluctuations? It’s not something I’ve personally heard about with the CA18 but I’d be happy to check it out.
What David is referring to is the regulator that’s a part of the alternator (they are external on older cars). It does what the name describes and regulates the voltage out of the alternator. By the quick description, this does sound like the most likely area for the issue. But could also be voltage drop issues or various other things. Hard to give a straight answer without more info on the problem.
Just a friend of mine told me about it because on all 200SXs he worked on had voltage fluctuations and 99% I have this problem too:)) and that I would have to solve this first before installing a standalone ECU (Ecumaster Classic) because it wouldn't like it.
As I said, I have a Nissan 200SX S13 with CA18DET with a Masterpower R545 turbo, 660cc injectors, Z32 MAF, Bosch coils and the car was running pretty bad and I changed quite a few things here and there and so I couldn't find the problem so I hoped a standalone ECU would help me solve or find the problem.
