Hi! We are building out a stage rally car, fitted for the "Limited" class here in the states. While electronics are free to change, we are opting to retain the stock ECU for budget purposes and reflashing our stock ECU to get a bit more performance out of our engine. Along with this we are looking to move both the engine bay fuse box and the interior fuse box into a central location (along with adding a Digital Dash via CAN).
My question is: Would it be worth redoing the fuse-box entirely to allow for a centralized location and hopefully simpler harness, or given that we are running stock ECU, should we keep the current fuse box locations and be done with it?
We are adding a digital dash that we plan to utilize CAN for, as well as relocating the battery to the passenger compartment (both for engine bay space making and weight distribution as we are FWD, small change but change nonetheless). We are very open to learning and are actually very interested in redoing the fuse box but given we have to pass emissions, we are wary of removing any non-emissions related circuits that could potentially throw a CEL (again, even if it's a non-emissions related sensor/circuit).
