Hi, this is Jason from the outskirts of Minneapolis, MN.

I'm just getting started with the tuning classes here, and finding them to be very informative and well done.

I started tuning in OBDI land with an 87 Camaro, piggybacking the factory ECU with a reflashable chip (hardware I purchased online, info I gleaned from forms, and careful trial and error). Ended up at ~ 320 wheel horsepower with the 305 swapped for a 383. I retained the TPI style intake, runners, and throttle body, but with aftermarket parts that could flow better.

Then I did a little tuning on a 4G63 in my son's GSX using EvoScan and ECU flash. Nothing fancy there, just cleaning up some things.

After that, I started using HP Tuners on my 2013 Camaro. Did open and closed loop tuning for cold air and headers after going through their course material for GM.

Currently, I have gotten interested in Subaru. I tried using HP Tuners, but my ECU was not well supported and they didn't have the resources to make updates for it at that time. So, I am back to ECU flash, but using RomRaider for data logging.

Even though I have gone through some other course material and videos, I am finding the course here to be much more thorough. I appreciate the attention to detail and the excellent explanations for all of the concepts that are covered. There have been several instances where I was finally able to say "So that's what is happening!"

Happy horsepower hunting,

Jason

Welcome! It's great to have you, thank you for joining us, and thank you for the kind words on the classes.

I love the enthusiasm too, and you have an awesome stable of vehicles.

On the Subaru you're getting into, you've found the best DIY option is open source. It used to be COBB, but EPA is only allowing them to keep their software for professional tuners at this time.
