when increasing and decreasing the idle ignition timing and watching the idle rpm increase or decrease to find the right idle ignition timing if you are using an idle control motor does this have to be turned off or set a certain way so it doesn't effect it like a compensation table would? or does this test work the same even if an idle control motor is being used?
What is the exact engine, ECU, and modifications? Is it electronic throttle or throttle cable (sounds like cable) ? Idle control can vary a lot depending on what mods you have and how the ECU is set up.
