hello tutuors ive sent an email and got referred from marcin lipski, my issue as susch is
with vtec engagment and launch control on my haltech 750 elite i dont know where to start to fix the issue.
the issue specifically is im getting home trigger errors when using launch control and going to enageg vtec ive wiried dpo4 on high state to the vtec solenoid (maybe i need to rewire to oil pressure switch instead?) and getting said issue.
car= 1998 honda prelude obd2a
engine= h22z1 same as h22a
gearbox= stock manual gearbox
ecu= haltech 750 standalone with self made patch lead harness using 3 sheets of obd2a pinout and haltech bassic universal harness.
trigger setup in nsp is distrubutor rising edge, trigger and home as reluctor, trigger has no ground refrence and i wired the home trigger to have a signal ground refrence i can easily change if i need to.
thank you, Donny
Hi Donny, it's been a while since I've wired up a H series honda engine but I'd start with the basics which is your trigger setup. What is a little unusual is that the trigger edge should be falling, however you can end up with this needing to be rising if you wire the sensors in reverse polarity. You can easily check however by using the built in scope function to view the trigger pattern. Alternatively I'm not sure if you're confusing trigger edge with 'Ignition edge' which should be rising for these Honda engines. All that being said, if you have the trigger polarity wrong I'd imagine you'd have more issues to deal with.
Assuming the above is all rock solid I'd be inclined to use the scope to try and capture what's happening when you get these trigger errors. If it's happening every time vtec switches for example then this should be easy to capture. If you can do so and post a screen shot that would be a big help.
