You change horsepower ratings with both but no tuning options like we get for say a dodge, Chevy or Ford. These are the softwares that we use at the dealership that I work for. It’s worth noting that you need a dealer license to change these parameters and good luck with that.
Many of the Cummins HD ECM's are supported by EFIlive for edit and flash. They do not supply templates that enable defeat editing on those platforms fwiw.

Hd cummins engines use calterm software. This is what cummins engineers use to manipulate the software. Cat engines use cat ET. Paccar engines use magic tuner, dimsport or kess tool with ksuite.
In the case of Komatsu engines, what are the software and hardware that can be used, if available at all.
