I'm looking at doing a swap with a gen 3 ea888 into a zn8 gr86. Mazworxs makes a cd00x trans kit for the zn8 and I found a company that does ea888 to cd009 with an adapter plate. So that's the easy part, what I'm curious about is the tuning aspect of these engines. I've been pointed in the direction of an ecumaxxx pro to run this, the plan is to have port and DI working in tandem. Is this a good option? I know its capable of driving di and pi injection but are there better alternatives? I'd like to retain as many oem functions on both the motor and the car but I know making can bus stuff meld like this can be difficult (like having the oem digital tach operational) but I want to take on this project even if it's going to be difficult. So any advice that you all have is greatly appreciated. Recommendations on ecu options and tips from people who have experience doing swaps in newer cars like this.
MoTeC have done a GR86 engine swap package but at the moment it's for the M150 for swapping to a port injected engine.
It retains most OE functionality.
If you email requesting a DI variant it could possibly be done for an M142.
Wiring would be a custom install obviously.
That's great to know thank you, I'll try reaching out and see if it's something they would do.
